Welcome to St. Bede’s Cooperative Academy!  We are a Catholic, classical homeschool program run and taught exclusively by parent volunteers.  We meet Tuesday mornings in Laurel, MD.

Our proBede Icongram offers classes for preschool and grammar stage children.  Our K-5 grammar program follows the Catholic Schoolhouse program, consisting of chorus/music, science experiments, art projects, and memory work in religion, Latin, history, and geography.

Beginning this year, a small group of upper grammar age students (grades 4-6) will also have a separate seminar block to study a piece of literature following the Catholic Schoolhouse timeline, and delve more deeply into specially chosen works of history and literature.

Our preschool program, for three and four year-olds, will follow a weekly theme centered around the letter of the week and include letter and number crafts and activities, storytime, show and tell, and music and movement.

At this time, we are unable to offer classes for logic and rhetoric students (middle and high school), though older siblings of grammar students may have the option, space allowing, of attending on coop mornings for independent study.  Our hope is that as our cooperative grows in the future, we will be able to add these levels to our program.

For children under age 2, we staff a nursery with parent volunteers.

Registration for 2018-2019 is now open for returning families.  Space permitting, registration for new families will begin May 1.  If you are interested in learning more about our program for 2018-2019 or would like to set up a time to come visit, please contact us at saintbedehomeschool@gmail.com.

Many blessings,

Laura and Janet

  1. Good afternoon! I’m the father of two girls (ages 4 and 2) and a boy on the way in June. I’m very interested in this program and was hoping I could arrange a visit for my oldest daughter Margaret. We are parishoners at Saint Gabriel parish in Windsor Mill, whose parish school (John Paul Regional) will be closing next year. We’re investigating home schooling options.
